About Realestateweb

About Realestateweb

Realestateweb is a property news site providing readers with fresh information and insights into the bricks-and-mortar asset class across the spectrum, from listed funds to the residential market. It is aimed at everyone interested in making the most of their money in the property sector - from investors to industry players.

Like its parent company Moneyweb, Realestateweb's editorial is fiercely independent and it encourages robust debate about issues.

Realestateweb welcomes company news releases, which are labelled as such in a special section. It does not accept advertorial (paid for editorial), while advertising is clearly differentiated from editorial content. Realestateweb welcomes guest columns and blogs of relevance to its community.

You can submit contributions for the consideration of the editor to news@realestateweb.co.za.

Realestateweb's editorial policy

Realestateweb's credibility as an independent news service is dependent on the personal integrity of its staff. In order to place that integrity beyond any possible doubt, Realestateweb is publicising its rigorously applied policy regarding share transactions and other investments.

Editorial staff must adhere to a policy that ensures that their reporting is not affected by personal interests. Moneyweb writers, including those who write for Realestateweb,  may not buy or sell shares in any JSE listed company within two weeks of writing a story related to that company or related shares. Realestateweb staff may not accept special property or other investment opportunities that are not available to the ordinary public.

Outside contributors are required to disclose their investment and business interests where appropriate.

Important notice to posters submitting comments on stories:

Realestateweb invites comments at the foot of each of its stories in which readers can respond freely - anonymously if they wish - to various topical issues and industry debates. However, comments submitted by readers that are defamatory or deemed, by the editors, to be racist or obscene will be deleted from the database.
Furthermore, Realestateweb's editors would like to caution potential posters on its websites that while it welcomes robust debate, it will not hesitate to make the IP addresses of the authors of such defamatory statements available to the authorities, in the event of a court order compelling them to do so
